Yes! Finally, after a week, I have finished my tribute to The Decemberists' spectacular new album, The Hazards of Love. (If you're unfamiliar with the band, I highly recommend you check them out: [link])
This was done in colored pencil (Crayola is one of the best things to happen in a long time) and spiffied up in photoshop. If you're unfamiliar with the album, this will probably be very confusing... All of the songs of The Hazards of Love flow together to tell one story, which involves shapeshifting deer, uncrossable rivers, infantcide, and a forest queen. There's lots of [my attempts at] symbolism in here. I will be submitting this for the fanart section on The Decemberists' website, so I'll add a link here if it's ever posted. Oh yes, and a few hours ago, I saw the album booklet for the first time, and let me say, my drawing looks nothing like the actual characters.  Happy weekend!  |
